2 Due Dates

That's right... I now have 2 due dates. We went to the doctor today, and we talked a little bit about the ultrasound and how it puts my due date at August 17th. Then he said that we are still going to keep an earlier due date of August 8th because ultrasounds can be off by as much as 10 days!

So I now have 2 due dates that are 9 days apart. He still says that I'm measuring big so he doesn't want to rule out that I'm further along than the ultrasound says. All I can do is chuckle. I know our baby girl will come when she wants to and there isn't anything my doctor, the ultrasound tech, or I can do!

On a happier note, I'm half-way done with my pregnancy! I'm slightly confused because I thought I was 19 weeks along, but then the doctor said I'm 20 weeks and the nurse congratulated me for being half-way done. haha! If there is one thing that this pregnancy has taught me, it is to go with the flow. :)

Jeans

I started cleaning out the spare bedroom (the junk room should be the real title) the other day and I found an old pair of jeans. I LOVED those jeans. They were the kind of jeans that just make you feel really good.

I unfolded them and noticed how tiny they looked. They looked especially small compared to the jeggings and stretchy jeans I have been wearing for the past month. I realized it had been a really long time since I last wore them. I believe I bought these jeans while I was here at college and wore them around the time Alec got home from his mission. They were my trusty pair of jeans. I don't know if they became buried under other clothes for a while after that or what, but I don't think I wore them much after that time.

I decided to try them on... Big mistake.

Normally, not fitting into old jeans would motivate me to go work out right then and there, but with the knowledge of where my waistline will be going in the next 4 months, I just decided to make these my goal jeans for after I have the baby. This will definitely take some time, but one day, those jeans will by my trusty pair again.

And the verdict is...

It's a GIRL!!!

We ended up having our ultrasound a little bit early since we had to reschedule it at the health center. We are so excited for our little girl to come!!

And... we have a due date!! Finally! Our little girl is due August 17th... for now. haha!

This means that my doctor was wrong about thinking I was further along. I sure hope that doesn't mean that our little one is just a big baby... For those of you who don't know, Alec was a HUGE baby. I have so much respect for Donne (Alec's mom). Alec weighed 11 pounds when he was born... I'm afraid of having a baby that big.

Anyway, we're just so excited! Alec is especially excited to have a little daddy's girl! She'll have him wrapped in no time. :)

The Countdown...

In 11 days, we have our ultrasound appointment where we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl! We should also find out our DUE DATE at that appointment! We cannot wait!

Alec and I are planners. We like to plan things to death. We already drew out the baby room on a smaller scale and cut out pieces of paper for the furniture and arranged it all in the room. Now all I need is to know if we're having a boy or a girl so I can plan the decorations! Excessive, I know. We still have over 4 months to go, but we're both just afraid that it will go by too fast and then we'll have too much to do right at the end when I'm nice and fat. We'll both be working full-time and taking a few classes over the summer, so we don't want to procrastinate.

For now, we're just crossing our fingers that the little guy or gal will cooperate so the doctor can see which he/she is!

Our Day in Florida!

Noteworthy was invited to sing at a benefit event for MD Anderson Hospital in Orlando, Florida last weekend. They agreed to pay for all of our expenses AND they even agreed to fly the director and her husband (aka Alec and I) out for the concert! We were extremely excited despite the fact that it was going to be a rather short trip. By short, I mean short.

The rest of the girls flew out Thursday morning, but I had a Women's Chorus concert that night so Alec and I flew out Friday morning. We got to the Orlando airport at around 6pm Friday night. The weather was AMAZING! It was so warm and humid, but not too humid. Just enough for my skin to be in heaven.

On Saturday, Noteworthy performed at Lake Eola (pictured below).

It was so beautiful there! Our hotel was right by the lake (it's one of those buildings at the top of the picture) so it was perfect. The weather that day was in the 80's so I got to wear the dress Alec got me for my birthday!

Unfortunately, Alec got pretty sick on Saturday with a really high fever, but we still got to spend quite a bit of time out and about during the day. We're pretty sure he got sick because we decided that this was going to be like a honeymoon since we never truly got one. We are cursed with poor health when it comes to honeymoons. :)

We left for the airport Sunday morning at 5:15 am Utah time. I did say it was only a day in Florida. It was a full day of traveling! We flew from Orlando to Milwaukee, from Milwaukee to Phoenix where we had a two hour layover, and then we flew from Phoenix to Salt Lake City. We arrived at the Salt Lake airport at 7:45 pm... Talk about a long day.

Even though it was a pretty short trip, it was a wonderful break from school and from the cold. Now I'm ready for summer. :)
