Sleep

Our little girl sure does like to sleep... just not at night. Her days and nights are a little bit mixed up right now so she sleeps great during the day! She sleeps pretty well in her swing or on a blanket next to us on the floor or the couch, but her favorite place to sleep is in her daddy's arms on the couch like this...

Aren't they cute!? A few nights ago, she was up ALL night. And I really mean all night. By 4 am, Alec and I decided to go out in the living room since we weren't getting any sleep anyway. We turned on the TV and Alec held Lily like in the picture above. She fell asleep almost instantly. She then proceeded to sleep for 3 hours...

I know that we'll eventually just have to let her cry in her crib one night if we ever want to sleep again at night. That is something I am dreading...

Motherhood

Being a mom is so much more difficult than I had ever thought it would be. But little things like this make it all worth it.

Cute smiles in her sleep.

That beautiful full head of hair.

Her vice grip.

Her happy personality... when she's awake. :)

Family walks to the temple.

Introducing...

Lily Elaine Pratt
Born August 10th, 2011 at 12:03 am
9 lbs 10 oz
20 1/2 inches long

Here she is the night after she was born.

In our mother and baby room just a few hours after delivery. The nurses had quite a bit of fun with her hair after the gave her a bath.

Tired Daddy less than an hour after delivery. Labor was long and he got less sleep than I did.

Here's Lily at 4 days old. We were so happy to get a picture while she was awake and alert!!

We're so happy to have her as a part of our little family!!

Sitting and Wishing and Hoping...

Any day now! That's what my doctor said! I had an appointment on Tuesday and he seems to think that I'll go into labor before my appointment next Monday. We'll see though!

Alec took this picture of me at 38 weeks. It's kinda blurry and it was super sunny so I don't have any eyes. I have definitely "dropped." It's a good thing that I'm not working anymore because I only have a few shirts that fit me now.

This is the best investment Alec and I have made since we got married...
This fan has saved both of our lives. We live in a basement apartment with no air conditioning. It actually stays fairly cool down here for most of the year, but between me being pregnant and July and August bringing 100 degree temperatures, we had to find a way to make it bearable. We have it on in the living room whenever we're home, and then we move it to the bedroom when we sleep. Even with the fan, I usually wake up sweating. And I only sleep with the top sheet! I can't wait for this oven to finally turn off!!

For now, we're just waiting... I can't believe that it was 9 months ago when we found out I was pregnant!! I took a total of 4 of these tests and I still didn't believe it until I went to the health center and took a test at the lab there. We can't wait to meet her!! She just needs to hurry up and decide to leave my warm little (or big, rather) oven!
