Bath Time = Nap Time

That's right. Lily LOVES her baths. She loves relaxing in the tub. She loves it so much that she often falls asleep during her baths...

This bathtub is AMAZING (Thank you Brianne!!)! The water first goes through a section with a thermometer that beeps if the water is too hot or too cold. Then, the water runs into the main bathtub. You can leave the faucet running so that the water recirculates and stays clean. :) Anyway, this is part of the reason why she falls asleep. She's living in the lap of luxury.

Lily's Blessing Day

Lily was blessed in California on September 25th. We were able to spend a few days down there with family and we had a great time. Lily woke up right before her blessing, but she didn't cry at all. She just stared at Alec the whole time. It was a wonderful day and we were so grateful to have so much family there to celebrate with us.

BIIIIIG Baby!!

Well, I took Lily to the doctor yesterday morning and at 6 weeks and 6 days old, she weighed a whopping 12 lbs 11 1/2 oz!!! That's one big baby!!

Look at those chins! We'll see what her stats are at her 8 week appointment!

Wrapped

Lily has Mom and Dad wrapped around her little finger. I mean, can you blame us when she does things like this?!

Say Cheese!

For the past week or so, Lily has been smiling like crazy!! She's been awake a lot more during the day and as long as she's fed and has a clean diaper, she is happy and playful. Yesterday, I was finally able to catch one of her smiles on camera!!

Here's the secret to getting her to smile. If we just touch her chin or lips, she'll almost always give us a grin. Oh and we have to make ridiculous faces and noises at her. :) That's a given.

Also, I just wanted to show how long her hair is! Alec thought it would be funny to brush her hair straight forward after her bath the other day. I think it makes her look like a 12 year-old boy... Anyway, it does show just how long her hair is! Good thing it sticks up! Otherwise we would have to give her a haircut soon!

I don't know about you, but I'm always staring at this cute face. I'm pretty sure we annoy her all the time because we're constantly hugging and kissing her. She let's us know when we get in her space for too long. We just can't help ourselves sometimes! She's just so dang cute!

1 Month Already!?

I cannot believe that our little girl is already over a month old!! She's getting so big! And I really mean that... She's already in 3 month clothes. I'm very interested to see how much she weighs at her 8 week appointment. She was at 9 lbs 15 oz at her 2 week appointment. We sure do have a healthy baby girl!!

Sunday Best

Lily went to church for the first time on Sunday! She was great! She slept almost the whole time, and she was awake and happy when we got home so I could take some pictures of her in her church outfit.

Everyone had the same comment when they saw her. "Look at that hair!!" Everyone kept telling us that she would probably lose some of the hair she had at birth, but now she's 4 weeks old and she still has all of it! The color has gotten a little lighter though. You may be wondering how we get her hair to spike up like that. The answer: We don't do anything. We actually can't get it to do anything BUT spike straight up. We've tried brushing it back, to the side, forward, and we've tried not brushing it at all, but it always just sticks straight up. I can't wait until it's long enough for pig tails!!

Here's another picture just for fun. This is how she sleeps most of the time. She LOVES touching her face and having her hands up by her head. If only she would sleep this soundly at night... :)

First Day of School

Lily had her first day of school on Monday! It was definitely an experience. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I have to bring her with me on campus so that I can give her to Alec after his class at 8 am and before my class at 9 am. I come home at noon and then head back to campus with Lily at 1 pm after dropping Alec off at work. I was so excited to pick out her clothes for that day even though I knew no one would see them. I spend most of the day putting on hand sanitizer because nothing seems clean enough on campus anymore. I never thought I would join the ranks of the stroller pushing, student mommy's, but here I am!

On another happy note, the other night, Lily slept from 11 pm until... drum roll please... 4:30 am!!! That's right. 5 1/2 hours straight! She woke up to eat, and then she went back to sleep from 5 am to 7 am!! Talk about a miracle!! We still have lots of sleep to catch up on, but hey, one step at a time.

Here's our little sleeping beauty in her swing. Thank goodness for this thing! It's the only way I get anything done during the day! Even with the swing, I find myself getting distracted by her cute little noises she makes while she sleeps. :)

I'm glad to have the first week of school out of the way! Just 15 more to go in the semester... :)
